STUDENT TEACHERS :
Who They Are

OUR STUDENT TEACHERS

Our student teachers are university and high school students, ages 16 to 22, recruited from around the world. They are creative, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals, bringing a diverse set of talents and experiences to the organization. Common to all student teachers is a desire to help young people and a commitment to both teaching and learning.

Student teachers are responsible for curriculum development, teaching, and student evaluation. Student teachers are trained for two weeks prior to meeting the students and guided by former Summerbridge and professional teachers to design and implement lessons that create a rigorous and rewarding learning environment. At the same time, student teachers become positive role models to the younger students, by sharing their passion and inspiring a love of learning.

Goals

  • Train and inspire young people committed to education and community service.
  • Foster a sense of civic duty and giving back to their communities
  • Enable greater cultural awareness through diversity and a common goal
  • Develop leadership skills

(English) "What surprised me the most was seeing how passionate the students are. It was really heartwarming and emotional to see how much each student improved, not just in their English skills, but also in their self-confidence. It was amazing to see each student step out of their own shell to be a much more confident person."
